In 1994, I was introduced to a methodology for formulating my own learning goals, identify the resources required for learning, and select and implement those learning strategies. My mentor, Natalie Rogers, PhD (daughter of Humanistic Psychology founder Carl Rogers and founder of Person Centered Expressive (Art) Therapy Institute) encouraged me to enroll in the self-directed, long distance program through Summit University of Louisiana. The education I received enabled me to succeed in a high level position as administrator in Washington State as well as a therapist and holistic energy practitioner in private practice in Mexico. During the past 8 years, the focus of my work has been in the arena of Energy Psychology and Coaching. I continued to use the self-directed model of education through five countries (Mexico, Peru, Thailand, Guatemala and the United States) where I had the honor of learning from indigenous healers and spiritual leaders. I am indebted to those who encouraged me to view knowledge and truth as contextual. Experiencing Oneness in a variety of cultures has helped me take further leaps into the unknown and experience new ways of being. Perhaps most importantly, I have gained a depth of understanding of how we transform the world in which we live, moment by moment, with each thought, word and deed. I returned to the United States on May of 2007. Upon returning, I sought ways to integrate the knowledge, ancient wisdom practices and rapid transformational technologies I have learned over the years. Upon my return, I completed a professional coaching program and obtained a credential from the Coaches Training Institute. Coaching allows me to combine my lifetime learning and desire to assist in the evolution and transformation of consciousness into a form that is easily deliverable across cultures and continents. The following quote from spiritual leader Ram Dass most resonates with my own words about my life purpose and path: "I would say that the thrust of my life was initially about getting free myself, and then realizing that my freedom is not independent of everyone else. I am arriving at that circle where one works on oneself as a gift to other people so that one doesn't create more suffering. I help people as I work on myself and I work on myself to help people."
